PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This James Island marsh-front remodel was an exciting project that involved renovating just about every single inch of the house, and converting a large attic space into new conditioned square footage. The project included a completely new kitchen and wet bar area expanded into a large existing closet which was no longer needed. Notable kitchen features include hidden under-cabinet electrical outlets and LED lighting, transom cabinet LED lighting, GE Monogram appliances, and Terra Bianca Brazilian Quartzite countertops featuring a huge island with beefy 3″ mitered edges. The master bathroom was completely gutted and redone with a larger curbless shower and beautiful Carrara marble porcelain tile and Sea Pearl Quartzite. A downstairs en-suite bedroom was converted into an office. The upstairs jack-and-jill bath was converted into two en-suite baths for the children’s rooms, and new walk-in closets were added to those rooms. Existing attic space was converted into a full guest suite, a playroom with new skylights, and a cool loft. A new study nook was created out of another attic space. The master bedroom box ceiling was completely removed and rebuilt to support the new playroom above. A new custom mahogany front door was installed and additional custom trim work was done to make the home look more traditional. An existing room in the garage area was converted into a soundproof music studio. Mini-split HVAC units were also added under the home in the workshop, garage, and new music room, with a new HVAC stand for the mini-splits complete with an integrated outdoor shower. The house was retrofitted with a new commercial-grade wireless access point wifi system and the existing distributed audio system was brought up to date.
